Research and planning: Photoshop challenge

To test what I remembered about Photoshop, I had to create a basic page which meant that I had to access, skills I have learnt in the past. To begin with, I had to figure out how to make get an A4 sheet which was by pressing the international paper drop down option.Once I got my page, I wanted to create text. Inserting a new layer and calling that text one, created an organised layout and helped me with the further section of my challenge. The typography that was required, was century Gothic font which I highlights the text, "AS Media Studies," and changed to the desired font. Then I used the color wheel option, positioned at the right hand corner, so that I could turn my typography into the conventional and connotation red of the Gothic genre. I had to then put the text box at the center of the page. The background color was tricky but again, I added another layer and called that background. I changed my color wheel to blue and then used the gradient tool to receive a nice background. The blue has connotations to calmness which subverts the Gothic typography conventions but the background blue made the red stand out. I had to then create a drop shadow affect on my text. Double clicking my text layer allowed me that option. I found it hard to place an internet image onto Photoshop. I got a picture of Theo James and then dragged it into the Photoshop software. This created an additional Photoshop tab which consisted only of the image. Then by dragging that image into my original tab, I transformed the image and decreased it size. Changing Theo's hair color was quite a challenge because I wanted to make his hair as natural as possible. To create a less solid color affect, I changed the opacity to 14. The final challenge was to create a border. This was done by creating an additional layor calling that border. Then I placed that layer below the image layer so that the image would be sent forward. I then drew out a red square which created a neat border.
