TV Drama Document- understanding conventions of colour

Tumbling into oblivion, my only reaction was to be afraid. Pain jolted through my body and I noticed an arrow which pierced my leg. it was oozing from it's cut which made my whole orientation disorientated. I soldiered on through the thick dark clouds. unbearable, was each step, I took but it was necessary. Through the darkness, there were quick flashes of light. the light gave me hope. it gave me vision. If I get out of this alive, I will never take light for granted. I, the living corpse, turned bitter as darkness was present. The loss of light was accompanies by voices. Eerie, wretched voices which all simultaneously screeched their cries of soul possession. Without my limp, I would have ran through the masses of fog but my destiny was inevitable. A palm clenched my mouth and I struggled in it's grasp. My body gave in and went limp. When I awoke, my whole essence was unusual. I felt a burning rage which was enough to make me share my torment through screeches. That was the moment I realized, I was among the souls of the mist.

*The conventional colors belong to the sinister thriller, Gothic and supernatural genre which are white, black, red, yellow and grey. The white has connotations to innocence which are represented by the flashes of light but the innocence is lost to the morbid essence of death. That's why the atmosphere shows conventional black and red which is associated with death. Grey has dull connotations which is represented through the fog and mist. Death because of loss of sight is quite dull so the color fits this association because it's not a heroic death.
