The image may be pixilated but I have used it for the poster coverline. The image is of pop star Ella Henderson and the poster will be supported by a coveline. This coverline will be mentioned in the contents page which will be called Ella Henderson's rise to fame. The image itself is a medium close up in a concert setting.
The image is of a rising band, from Manchester, called the Piccadelys. In this image you have a medium long shot which has a tight positioning within the frame. This is great for a poster coverline because the image will be small but the poster is also simple.
I will use this image for my contents page as a coverline for current tour information. The wide shot includes a concert setting with the band known as The Script. I have picked this photograph because the lighting is bright so on a connotational level, it will fit with the pop genre. The props that are apart of the photographs makes it authentic.
The photograph of Olly Murrs will be placed on my front cover as a poster. The image will be small but the medium long shot captures his posture and facial expressions. To adhere to pop conventions, I have chosen this picture because as he sings, he is smiling. By having a microphone, it enforces the idea that he's a singer.
The photograph of the Vamps will be used for the contents page tour coverline. I may also make this coverline has the quirky edge of the battle of the bands. this photograph will be able to support this cover line idea because the posture in this image also has an excitement edge.
This is the second photograph of The Script. I am unsure if I will be using this one or the other one. I prefer this photograph because of Danny O'Donogue's stance. His posture shows that he's comfortable and also brings personality performance to the stage. The other band members also have a posture which presents an entertainment factor. The red jacket has connotations of danger which is appropriate for the wild personality which is brought on stage. The crowed being apart of the image shows audience reactions because the excitement makes them stand up and perform gestures such as waving. Overall the photograph will support a tour coverline which increases the magazines value. For the shot type, the posture is important because it's the factor that will sell the excitement and draw the intended target audience to read the magazine. This will also promote future concert performances by the band.
I wouldn't use this image because the people in the frame aren't tight and it also cuts of James. I may be able to use apart of this image for the double page spread story but only were the girls are close together.
This image has been used for my front cover because the models positioning is tight. You also can see difference in facial expressions which provide dynamic characteristics. I have used these connotations of their facial expressions to create a comical, light hearted double page spread story.
I was going to use this image for my front cover but I didn't because of the blurry figure.
In this image, the positioning within the frame isn't good because I have cut off two peoples heads.
I wouldn't use this image but I may photoshop the image to keep the boy models. This would be in order to create a double page spread story with a boys V.S girls dynamic.
I would have used this image for the boys V.S girls idea. This would have been done by taking out the girl models but the drum stick will get in the way.
I wouldn't use this photograph because the posture and facial expressions hold the genre indie connotations.
The photograph can be used for two sections. 1. A poster signed by the model 2. for the double page spread story. The who hotseat can include random questions and a sense of how well do you know your band members. I really like this image because it's posture has fun connotations. It shows that the band member is wild and this can bring entertaining answers.
For my front cover, I needed more images so I have taken this image for a coverline story of V.S context. Conventional pop magazine's have a busy layout and i'm hoping these additional images will help me achieve this. This image is a simple medium close up. You can see a happy facial expression which shows that the coverline will have a fun tone. The image is taken in natural light and considering aspects of mise en scene, her makeup isn't heavily put on. I like the winged eyeliner which makes the coveline story convenient. The winged eyeliner also shows a wild characteristic or an individual artist/ model characteristic which will create audience appeal. Blue has calm connotations which creates an adherence to the images mood.
The image may be used as an individual poster for my band Before our Reign in which I will be changing into Young Parody.
For the "Eyeliner game," coverline, I will use this image because the image uses a wide shot to capture all aspects of mise en scene. Facial expressions and posture shows that she's smiling but the two aspects can have connotations to a gossip edge. Her hair is swept back and to the side which allows the facial expression to be clear.
I may use this one for the "eye liner game" coverline because the medium close up shows light eyeliner. You can see it more clearly because of the shot type. Her gaze is also direct and wide open which makes the expression more focused.
The images from the Christmas live concert will be used as front cover posters all closely near eachother. This will mean that I will have to change, "3 fab posters," to "Fab posters," because I want to have lots of posters for a busy layout. Pop magazine audience often read certain articles but they prefer the free items such as posters. This means that by having lots of posters, it increases magazine value.
