Today I have started creating my contents page. I have started creating an editorial which I'm trying to create a clear but busy layout. This means that the gutters will need to be clear and every section must be allocated. The blue box around my model Caitlin, I will probably take out because it makes the contents page look more abstract. Instead of having a headline which says contents page, I called it an inside look which makes the magazine have an entertaining language. According to audience feedback, one of the most features which increases pop magazine value is the gossip factor so the language used e.g "OMG there's more" and "inside look," has connotations to that.
I haven't done much to my double page spread but I started by placing the bleed lines on the page. I also filled in a gradient fill with my color scheme which is the house style I have set. At this point, I'm trying to figure out how to place my main images on the page and where to put my double page story. The double page spread needs to have a busy layout but the language used must have an informal register.
