This production schedule shows the deadlines in which I need to complete each task. This is so a layout of the aspects I have left and also is a constant reminder of what tasks I have left. The empty cells are tasks that I have already completed. The tasks left over shows how I will manage my time, before the final deadline.

Research and planning: magazine research
The band I have chosen is Little Mix. The man members are all costumed conventionally to pop. This is because each of them are wearing bright colors which have connotations to summer which has connotations to fun. This idea of entertainment displays the front covers light hearted tone which would synergy to the Little mix featured double page spread. The use of facial expressions also keeps to this tone. This is because their expressions show excitement/ fun because they are pulling their faces. Make up is relevant to the representation of the age demographic. My intended target audience age is 11-16 years which is conventional to pop so the main image must also be appropriate. This is why the makeup is very subtle and natural. The use of props is relevant to the mise en scene aspect by having props such as the bubble gum and the pink spray paint. Pink is connotation to femininity which creates a sense of sweet irony with the idea of the Little Mix rebellious side which also shows that their will be an entertainment edge. To fit the whole band in and keep the conventional busy front cover, I will also use the same shot type for my band. The clothing also needs to be appropriate for it to be suitable for my intended target audience but this also increases interest and makes my audience want to act because it promotes this idea of the normality of the band.
The X factor band Only the Young is most like the band I want to create. This is because of the pop genre and the fact that the band have individual characters. What I like about this bands costume is the fact that they are all wearing the same colored pants. This shows that the band are all coordinated and that's how I will use mise en scene to show how my members are a band. Conventional to pop, boys wear the color blue so I am considering to either make them wear blue or black. This I also want to do with the females. The conventional color for femininity is pink but it isn't mature enough to a connotation level costume wise for the girls in the image. From this, the girls also have the color scheme consisting of white and black. The difference between the band is that they all have their own quirky edge but the costume and posture makes them been seen as a band. You have the difference edge of the hat as part of the costume. I would consider that as more of a prop because other pop bands have only one of their members wearing such a "quirky," feature e.g the Vamps. You also have the conventional colors of white which connotates to purity and represents the band in a more respectable way. The way their make up is subtle and hair styles are fashioned simplistic is what I will do with all the images I take.

Research and planning: Considering Mise en scene
BEFORE OUR REIGN: the band name
-I have considered all aspects of mise en scene such as props, costume, settings and expressions/ posture. I have also considered the appropriate representation for the teenage girl age group of 11-16 years old.
-For the main image of the double page spread, I am considering using instrument props.
-On the front cover, I am thinking of using Before our Reign without instruments and using the medium long shot.

Research and planning: Social media feedback
This hasn't worked out so well. I have used facebook to ask opinions on the name Before our Reign. For the one positive comment, I will call my band Before our reign because I think this name creates a new edge for pop.
Using facebook social media, I asked 3 friends about my masthead and my made up group name and they all agreed that I should keep them names.
Using facebook social media, I have asked 2 people what types of questions they would like to read in an interview. This helps me create scripts which will appeal to my intended target audience or a slightly older secondary intended target audience. I may also have the interview questions as questions from fans via twitter so that it enforces the idea that Before our Reign are a celebrity band.

Research and planning: Interview questionnaire results analysed
The majority of the people I've serveyed would purchase a magazine monthly. This shows that monthly editions would be an appropriate release for my magazine Rising Star. The sample that I surveyed mainly listen to main stream pop who have became famous without social networking help e.g Taylor Swift and Drake. This shows that the more credited pop music are people who are famous without social networking and being apart of a contest. The majority of the sample will pay £2.50 so my magazine price will be £2.50. This will also be positive for my audience because the socio-economic is classed under E group. This means that they have no means of income because they are not economically active. My target audience chose the colour scheme of pink, yellow and blue. They hold connotations of the pop genre with these colours the most. I may not use blue as one of the main colours because it has more masculine connotations and my magazine is targeted at the teenage 11-16 year old females. Yet considering mise en scene, blue will be a conventional colour worn by one or more of my band members. The coverlines that people are most interested in can be tied down to the informal context of an interview. This will adhere to conventions of a light hearted, fun tone because of the combination connotations of celeb gossip, interviews and reviews. Finally you have competitions which interest my intended target audience the most. This is also conventional to pop magazines because it allows the intended target rare opportunities of winning prizes. This also increases the magazine's value.
Research and planning: Interview videos
1. What would you want as the magazine's main image?
Everybody I interviewed said that they preferred a female as the celebrity icon. I believe this was chosen because they considered the intended target audience being teenage girls and thought that it will arise the most interest.
2. Do you think the name Rising star is appropriate for a pop music magazine?
Every one liked the name Rising star and because it was a closed question, they said yes.
3. What 3 colours would you associate with a pop magazine?
The main colours people associated was pink, yellow and blue. These colours don't really go well together but I will use the conventional pink, yellow and I will may use a black background. The blue will be evident in costume because it's a conventional colour towards the male gender.
4. What's your favourite type of article in a magazine? This being either an interview or factual information about the artist.
2 people said their favourite type of article is an interview. I believe this is because my questionnaire had categories such as celeb gossip which features in interviews.
5. How much would you pay for a pop magazine?
The agreed price was £2.50 because I believe that my target audience chose this as a reasonable price and this is shown in my target audience presentation.

Research and planning: Drawn drafts of front cover, contents page and double page spread
I have used the rule of three thirds for my double page spread because I believe that this will present my featured article in the best way. This also helps with navigation because of what draws you in first, second and third. The images will be of different shot types e.g medium close up so that you can see costume, posture and expression. This double page spread adheres to a house style which is yellow, purple and black. They have connotations to conventional aspects of pop but the color scheme may change. This will be due to audience interviews and questionnaire.
I have included a bleed line which will be used in all the pages because it keeps the magazine layout tight and helps in mass production. The front cover uses a long shot. I decided on a long shot so that the audience is able to see the significance in all mise son scene aspects e.g props.
